Discover seasonal colour palettes to enhance your personal image
Did you know that the colours you choose for your clothes, make-up and accessories can hugely influence how others perceive you and how you feel about yourself? The key to making the most of your colours is colour analysis, which studies the colours of your skin, eyes and hair to determine the palette that best enhances your natural beauty.
In my image consulting in Barcelona, I offer a detailed analysis of your ideal colours through a colour test, so you discover which colours harmonise with your body shape and personal style. One of the most powerful tools I use is the classification of colours into seasonal palettes, a technique that will help you choose the right colours to highlight your features and create an authentic, balanced image.
What are seasonal colour palettes?
Seasonal colour palettes are based on the idea that each person has a range of colours that harmonises with their natural features, such as skin tone, eyes and hair. These palettes are grouped into four seasons: spring, summer, autumn and winter. Each season has a combination of shades that enhances the natural beauty of the people who belong to it.
With colour analysis, I can determine which season you belong to and which colours flatter you. That way you can choose the right clothes, make-up and accessories for your skin type and physical features.

The four seasonal palettes
These are the four seasonal colour palettes that help bring out your natural beauty:
| Palette | Signature colours | Features |
|---|---|---|
| Spring | Warm colours, peach, coral, light green, pastel yellow | Ideal for fair or warm skin, blue, green or hazel eyes |
| Summer | Cool colours, pastel pink, lavender, light blue, grey | Ideal for cool, pinkish skin, light blue or green eyes |
| Autumn | Earthy colours, brown, mustard, olive green, burnt orange | Ideal for warm skin, brown or reddish hair, brown or hazel eyes |
| Winter | Cool colours, black, white, navy blue, deep red | Ideal for fair skin with pink undertones, or darker skin, dark eyes |
Sub-groups: why not all “springs” are the same
Each season is divided into sub-groups according to its most prominent trait. For example, within spring there are people dominated by lightness, others by warmth and others by brightness of colour; in winter, some stand out for depth and others for contrast or clarity. That’s why two people of the same season don’t always share exactly the same colours.
Common self-diagnosis mistakes
- Relying only on hair or eye colour. Your skin’s undertone matters more.
- Looking at yourself under warm artificial light. It makes skin look yellow and confuses cool with warm.
- Confusing “I like it” with “it suits me”. You can love a colour and it can still make your face look dull.
- Analysing yourself with a tan or make-up. Both temporarily change what you see.
How do you know which seasonal palette is yours?
In my image consulting, I offer a colour analysis service that will help you determine your seasonal palette. Through a colour test, I’ll identify the shades that best match your skin tone, eyes and hair, and show you how to bring these colours into your wardrobe and accessories.
Once you know your seasonal palette, you can use it as a guide to choose the clothes that flatter you most, helping you feel more confident and authentic when you get dressed. Image consultants will show you how to combine these colours and how to create a unique style based on your face shape and body shape.
Benefits of knowing your seasonal palette
- Better visual harmony: the right colours enhance your physical features and create a balanced image.
- More confidence: when you feel comfortable in the colours you wear, your confidence shows in your image.
- Saving time and money: knowing your seasonal palette helps you choose garments that really suit you, avoiding impulse buys and mistakes.
How to use your palette day to day
In your clothes
Start with the garments worn close to your face (shirts, jumpers, scarves) and choose your basics (coat, trousers, bag) in your palette’s neutrals: that way everything goes together.
In make-up and metals
Your season also guides the colour of lipstick, blusher and eyeshadow, and whether gold, silver or rose gold suits you best in jewellery and frames.
In your hair colour
If you dye your hair, your palette helps you choose highlights that harmonise with your skin. For an analysis focused on hair, there is an armocromia session with a special focus on hair colour.
You can discover your season at my colour analysis studio in Barcelona or by video call. If you’re in other cities, you’ll find information on colour analysis in Madrid and colour analysis in Zaragoza.
Frequently asked questions
Can I find out my season with an online test or an app?
They can give you a rough idea, but lighting, the camera and make-up greatly affect the result. An analysis with drapes, in person or via a guided video call, is far more reliable.
Can I wear colours that aren’t in my palette?
Yes. The palette is a guide, not a ban. Ideally, wear your colours near your face and use the others further away from it: in trousers, skirts, bags or shoes.
Does my season change with age or if I dye my hair?
Your skin’s undertone doesn’t change, but over the years or with a new hair colour the contrast or intensity can shift. That’s why in the analysis we also look at which hair dye shades harmonise with you.
Are armocromia and colour analysis the same thing?
Yes. Armocromia is the name of the Italian method; in Spain the term colorimetría is more common. Both work with the four seasons and their sub-groups.
